That's right. The Dallas Cowboy savior has zoomed to second in the NFL quarterback ratings, ahead of Phillip Rivers and Marc Bulger, Donovan McNabb and Drew Brees, Carson Palmer and Tom Brady.
The Cowboys are 2-1 with Romo at the controls and have resurrected their season. At 5-4, Dallas is very much in the playoff hunt, and Romo's efficiency is no small reason why.
So one question: Does this make Bill Parcells savant or stooge? Does Parcells look brilliant for pulling the trigger on Romo at halftime of that Monday night debacle against the Giants? Or does he look foolish for waiting so long?
No one knew that Romo would play this well: eight touchdowns, four interceptions, 66 percent completions. But shouldn't Parcells have known Romo was an upgrade over Drew Bledsoe?
Parcells saw Romo and Bledsoe every day in practice. Parcells is considered one of the great football minds of all time. Shouldn't he have detected sooner what Romo could bring to the Cowboys?
Just because fans always cry for the backup quarterback doesn't mean they're always wrong.
