Oklahoma City bombing co-conspirator Terry Nichols is complaining about his diet again — this time in a handwritten federal lawsuit seeking more than $2 million.

He claims the food he gets in federal prison in Colorado violates his religious rights. He also claims the "indifference” of prison officials to his medical needs is cruel and unusual punishment.

Nichols complained that he "is compelled to consume daily those unhealthy dead and refined foods that are abhorrent to plaintiff’s sincerely held religious beliefs causing him physical, mental and spiritual torment, and to sin against God.”

He wrote that he sincerely believes that God created mankind to consume unrefined whole foods. He wrote that he is forced to sin against God by eating refined foods that destroy "His holy temple ... my body.”

He is demanding 100 percent whole-grain foods, more fresh raw vegetables and fresh fruit, a wheat bran supplement, and digestive bacteria and enzymes. He wrote that his religious beliefs and requests "are not absurd, unorthodox, nor costly.”

He wrote he has been dealing with chronic constipation, bleeding and hemorrhoids for more than 30 years.

His complaints about food in the past have angered victims of the 1995 attack who have said he does not deserve special treatment. In 1996, before his federal trial, he refused to stand four times for inmate counts to protest that he wasn’t getting whole-wheat bread. In 2001, before his state trial, he fasted for almost six days to protest his food at the jail.

His 39-page lawsuit was filed in federal court in Denver March 16.

He also complained that because of his conviction for the bombing, prison employees have discriminated against him. He wrote that he has been stereotyped by the Bureau of Prisons, the court and the media as being a terrorist. "Mr. Nichols is not a terrorist,” he wrote.

Since his trials, Nichols has admitted to the FBI, his family, a U.S. congressman and others that he helped bomber Tim McVeigh gather components for the fertilizer bomb and that he helped build the bomb in the back of a rented truck.

This would be the same man who was caught with 28, 50-gallon bags of ammonium nitrate fertilizer on his ORGANIC farm???? Since synthetic fertilizer isn't allowed--one might conclude that Terry doesn't mind bending codes of food ethics all that much.

They should shoot him in the head and bill his family for the bullet and funeral.

I thought you weren't doing comments to these articles. As someone who was around at that time, and who knows people that died, could you suspend comments on this one? I think it would be the respectful thing to do here.

Liberal or conservative, after reading all posts, most posters agree that his 47 page lawsuit should be read by the presiding judge/judges (due process and all) given due consideration (due process) and then dismissed and all 47 pages placed into the nearest shredder.

Hey Brad OKC, lay off the AM radio so much my friend. Try reading a book, maybe a History book. You might gain a unique perspective that we just might all be Americans. You might find out that America was founded on a plurality of ideas and views. The Principle being that it is OK to have differing views. Wait maybe this is way over your head. Go back to watching FOX news and listening to your god Rush. There probably is no real hope for a good sheep like yourself.

Omg i thought we were all in the same state? We all agree that this man should not get the special foods nor the money, so why call each other dumb a**'s and idiots. Its funny how a man in prison can cause so many arguments. He should not have this much power over anyone. He aleady took so many lives why let him continue. Just yell at him not each other. Terry Nichols is a nobody, he is the old piece of gum i step on everytime i go into a crowded place that i scrap off with a stick. This man does not deserve even that same piece of gum i scraped off. NOw everyone have a wonderful day and God bless!!!!

Stinkerpants............let me clarify my comment once again, so even you can understand. I meant now that he's been convicted and there is no question about his guilt, he has forfeited his rights. He eats what is put in front of him............or he doesn't eat at all. His choice. End of story. Let's not empower convicts by allowing them to file frivolous lawsuits. What's next.........he sues because he doesn't like the color of his prison garb?

And, by the way, what does whether or not one attended his trial have to do with anything? Are you saying that only those who were present are entitled to an opinion on this topic? To quote you in your last post....."After all-we are Americans." Well, stinky,(may I call you stinky?) in your civics/history class, did you ever hear of something called freedom of speech? :-)

Michael...thanks for proving that liberals argue by resorting to name calling. I am an idiot (and earlier called a faggot) just because I think our president may like domestic terrorists? I forgot..republicans cannot have their own oppinions anymore. He has a friend in Bill Ayers (who bombed a police station)does he not? Also....if you are a liberal then you must realize that your party leaders are against the death penalty...right??? So make up your mind.

Brad, first of all your an idiot. Secondly you can be a liberal and want justice. I for one am a what you might call a liberal and I thought this person should have fried. I was there just block from the building when it happened on my way to the SS Office. This man deserves no special rights in prison. those people that dies that fateful day didn't get a choice and why should he. I still do not understand how they let this man live and I hope that he in his suffering by eating processed food can remember that he killed 168 people cause never ending emotional distress to thousands and should be happy that he is alive and not dead.
Michael, Yukon - Mar 29, 2009 at 12:02 am
Scott--it's childish to think a man should face trial without an attorney. After all--we are Americans. And without attorneys defending the accused at a trial, we aren't. You are a child. Tell me, did you attend the trial? I didn't think so. Just being blowhard doesn't make you special.
stinkerpants, Oklahoma City - Mar 28, 2009 at 11:53 pm
let's see if i understand his religious logic. It pisses god off to eat processed food, but not killing babies and innocent people?
Julie, Kingfisher - Mar 28, 2009 at 11:41 pm
Stinkerpants..........when I say "those who defend him", I'm not just referring to his attorneys, but all those who think he has some type of rights. As far as I'm concerned, he forfeited his rights on 4/19/95. That being said, he and his pal Tim have reserved front row seats in hell. Enjoy the show, boys!
Scott, Nichols Hills - Mar 28, 2009 at 11:40 pm
Those who defended him are good people. That's a fact. It's in the constitution that a man gets appointed a lawyer. George Washington and all those who signed onto the Constitution agreed to that. BUT...that said, I still hope they have whole wheat in Hell for this bast**d.
stinkerpants, Oklahoma City - Mar 28, 2009 at 11:25 pm
The photo they show is outdated. I wonder if he is a fat as Roger Dale Stafford got to be on this same food? Poor killer, mistreated and hates his diet. My oh my, I just want to cry a river for this man. pppfffttt
Sallie, Del City - Mar 28, 2009 at 10:57 pm
Fernando, I know exactly where he is. I was referring to the people who gave him life instead of staking him to a red ant hill.
Rebecca, Choctaw - Mar 28, 2009 at 10:39 pm
My wife and oldest daughter were in buildings damaged by the bomb Nichols helped build.
If he would like a "special diet" I have the perfect one for him:
125 grains (whole grains I believe) of copper jacket hollow point ammunition, in .357 magnum.
By mouth as needed for whatever ails you.
Kenneth, Oklahoma City - Mar 28, 2009 at 10:26 pm
Put him to death so there wont be a problem.
Joe Bob, Norman - Mar 28, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Okay. Give him Super Bread. He wants whole grains!
Annabella, Oklahoma City - Mar 28, 2009 at 10:11 pm
whats sad is our legal system will probably cater to him to keep it out of the courts. there are prisoners everday the sue the jails and prisons they are in because of the food they have to eat.its sad but thats our great legal system we have today.

The only thing more pathetic than this creep are those who defend him.

Cletus: You are one of the most self- effacing pompous jackasses I have ever come across. Every time I see your comments on any subject You put Yourself at the top of the dung heap you call opinion. Have You any enduring qualities? All You do is bitch and moan and when confronted with facts and or logic, You turn to childish and baseless attacks on Your accusers. I don't recall if I have ever seen anyone who has such a boorish view of the world. You should be banned from ever owning a computer. When You come down from that self serving egotistical place that You have carved out for Yourself. I hope that there are still people in this world. You are not funny You are a pathetic and smallish little man. You give little thought or regard for others. I feel so sorry for any progeny that might accidentally arise from Your existence. Other than that I have little regard for Your opinions but I will defend Your right to express them. This after all Is America
