A 15-year-old girl went into a pond to save a dog that had fallen through the ice. Both came out of the frigid water just fine.

Firefighters were called about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday to 13900 SE 134, a rural home in southeast Oklahoma County, where a large dog fell into a partially frozen pond. The girl said she went in the pond after the dog, but the girl’s mother called to the dog, and it was able to get out on its own.

The girl did not suffer hypothermia and already had changed clothes by the time firefighters arrived, fire Maj. Mark Cochell said.

People should not try to walk on frozen ponds, creeks or lakes, Cochell said.

"It’s very, very dangerous because it does not get cold enough long enough for people to walk out on ice,” Cochell said.

I thought the fallen mail carrier article was bizarre but now this? What do these reporters do all day? Maybe they should stop getting the news from neighbors and friends and turn on CNN or something...even FOX. My God!

Someone needs to tell channel 9 , they repoorted the mother and daughter used a rake and after 15 minutes they got the dog out. The girl was only in the water 1 minute. Glad all are alright.

Well, it's really good she's alive, and the dog. But is this news?
