Teams of federal, state and local workers will begin collecting damage assessments this week in 23 counties affected by recent flooding and tornadoes.

The teams will survey roads, bridges and other infrastructure as part of the process for local governments to seek reimbursement for recovery costs.

Although Gov. Brad Henry declared a state of emergency for all 77 counties, surveys will focus on these counties: Atoka, Beckham, Blaine, Bryan, Canadian, Cherokee, Comanche, Delaware, Dewey, Ellis, Kay, Kiowa, Lincoln, McIntosh, Noble, Nowata, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Ottawa, Roger Mills, Rogers, Seminole and Woodward.

All sustained some damage from storms since May 4. One fatality and two injuries have been attributed to the severe weather.

The cleanup continues in the Cache area of Comanche County, where about 50 homes were damaged or destroyed by flooding.

The Southern Baptist Men's chainsaw unit is clearing debris and brush, while the Salvation Army and the Methodist Church of Cache continue to supply food and water to affected residents.

In Okfuskee County, flooding destroyed many of the road repairs completed after the January ice storm.

Some roads along the Deep Fork and Canadian rivers remained closed because of high water.
