• Sports. Sam Bradford holds a news conference. Or he doesn’t. But he might. And that’s the last thing Bob Stoops is going to say about that.
• Pets. A Tecumseh couple rescue nearly 100 dogs from a puppy mill operation. The couple always wanted a pet. Or eight dozen.
• Sports. The NBA announces it will enforce a rule to fine players who stand on the bench and obstruct fans’ view of the court. Seven-footers will argue they were actually sitting down at the time of obstruction.
• Entertainment. Ford Center officials announce Elton John and Billy Joel will play a joint concert in November. In addition to the Rocket Man and Piano Man, concertgoers will seek a beer man, a hot dog man and a nachos, jalapenos and cheese sauce man.
• Crime. A Sonic carhop is robbed while on the job in northwest Oklahoma City. Rumor has it the robber roller-skated away before police could be called.
• Parks. Oklahoma City officials pledge $8 million in improvements for the 25-year-old Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. When I turned 25, I got a card from my grandmother with $5 in it. I’m fairly certain I got the short end of the stick on that deal.
• Trick-or-treating. City officials in Norman announce children should trick-or-treat Friday to avoid traffic from the Sooners home football game against Kansas State on Halloween night. Sooners fans hope for less trick and more treat during the game.
