Two public programs this month will promote shifts in U.S. foreign policy toward greater cooperation among nations and reducing misunderstanding and hostility, according to organizers at Oklahoma City’s Peace House.
Nathaniel Batchelder, director of the Peace House, said it’s time for an end to the U.S. embargo against
Cuba and time for the U.S. to promote international collaboration.
A program will be presented July 15 by nine individuals participating in a caravan of North Americans to Cuba.
The public is invited to a 6:30 p.m. potluck supper at Church of the Open Arms, 3131 N Pennsylvania Ave. A program by members of Pastors For Peace traveling to Cuba will be presented.
On July 17, retired Air Force Lt. Col. Robert M. Bowman will speak about international policies to promote world understanding and peace. His talk is set for 7 p.m. at Mayflower Congregational Church, 3901 NW 63. Bowman, who flew 101 combat missions during the
Vietnam War, has spoken around the world about world affairs, Batchelder said.
Bowman also will speak July 16 in
Norman. His talk is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the
Unitarian Fellowship, 1309 W Boyd.
