Murray injured the hamstring on the opening kickoff of the
Big 12 Championship game on Dec. 6. It was initially thought Murray had sustained a deep bruise.
“Obviously we're very disappointed for DeMarco," OU coach
Bob Stoops said. “He has been an important part of our success this year and we will miss his contributions. DeMarco has had an incredible year."
“With
Chris Brown and
Mossis Madu, we still have two very fine backs. Our team has a lot of confidence in their abilities."
Murray is OU’s second-leading rusher (behind Brown) with 1,002 yards and is the team leader in all-purpose yards with 2,171. He was second on the team with 18 touchdowns and third in points scored (108).
OU head athletics trainer
Scott Anderson said it will be about five months before Murray is cleared to begin training.
The
Sooners take on
Florida on Jan. 8, in
Miami in the BCS National Championship game.

What a joke.
The tie is broken by the team who had the best ENTIRE season. The unbiased BCS computers overwhelmingly picked OU as the best team. They EARNED their spot. Get over it.
Coach Meade
Our biggest special teams problems were when they didnt have starters playing. Now they do, and things have improved some.
College teams generally do not have return specialists like NFL teams have. SMART coaches play their best players on special teams since it is a third of the game and it can be won or lost there.
I didnt hear folks complaining when he broke that TD against Baylor last year.

Chalk up another BCS loss for Bob.
wow you really think highly of yourself. You are going on and on, who trying to convince, me or you?

I too hope Demarco has a speedy recovery and wish he could play in the NC. But the Sooners will cover for him.
Dana in Tacoma --- what in the world are you talking about? That is a really strange thing to write. Very odd.

Through the years OU has had to fight hard - sometimes twice as hard - for what they achieved, overcoming many unfair referees & calls, negative announcers, criticism from around the country. That can happen to any team, but it sometimes seemed so obvious that OU was hated going into a game - just because they were OU.
Why ... because they have tradition.
Come on you guys, chill out.
Guess how OU got into the NC. God. They had nothing but adversity, yet they continued to play hard. Bent no rules, only allowed the system to pave the way. It's so convenient for the sh#thorns to completely put their loss to the side. Talk about someone getting through the back door. I forget. How did you people down there justify your loss TT 39 tu 33? Was it the last second that beat you, with two of the finest athletes in college football? Or, we could have won the game if our outstanding athlete hadn't dropped the ball a few plays earlier? Or, we didn't really lose; we played another quarter when everyone turned off their TVs and we scored 7 points.
OU 35 texas 45; Texas Tech 39 texas 33; OU 65 Texas Tech 21. Also joe blow, you can't change the truth. You're pretty easy to rattle. Your anger blinds you and dulls your comprehension.
