Bob Stoops said Monday his training staff is optimistic that defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger and defensive end Frank Alexander will be able to play Saturday against Texas.

“Everyone practiced to some degree today,” Stoops said. “Right now, our trainers are optimistic and feel that everyone is going to play.

“If I know at some point that someone is not going to play, I'll let everyone know.”

Granger is trying to come back from a sprained foot he suffered at Washington. Alexander has been out since he was stabbed in the arm at a party the night of the opener against Chattanooga.

Center Jon Cooper and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy also suffered injuries against Baylor, but were out on the field Monday.

Said McCoy, “I'm good to go.”

Not so much about full speed, but just to have him out there will force Tex. to double team him.
