SOONERS FALL TO 1-11-0
No. 7-ranked Texas A&M scored three times in the first half en route to a 5-0 victory over Oklahoma in Big 12 soccer at College Station, Texas.
Four of the Aggies’ five goals came on either a free kick, corner kick or kick. Amber Gnatzig had two goals for Texas A&M (10-1-1 overall, 3-0-1 Big 12).
OU (1-11-0, 0-3-0) next plays at 7 p.m. Friday against Missouri in Norman.
OU GOLF WINS CUP
The Oklahoma men’s golf team won its first tournament of the fall season, beating Yale by eight shots for the Macdonald Cup in New Haven, Conn. Sophomore Liam Logan was the Sooners’ top individual, finishing second overall with an even-par 210. Logan was two shots behind medalist Jason Thresher of Bryant.
SOONER HOCKEY CRUISES
The Oklahoma club hockey team hammered North Dakota State 8-0 late Saturday at the Blazers Ice Centre. Sean McCauley had a goal and three assists. Robert Hetrick and Kyle Allan added two goals apiece as the Sooners moved to 5-1-0. North Dakota State fell to 1-5-0. OU, ranked sixth in the American Collegiate Hockey Association, next plays Oct. 17 at No. 24 Robert Morris in Chicago.
