• Kids who are with an adult who is not a parent or guardian should have a permission slip authorizing the vaccination. The clinics will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at U.S. Grant and Southeast high schools and will be open to anyone in the community who falls into the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention target categories of pregnant women, children in prekindergarten through grade 12 and those 6 months to 18 years old with underlying health conditions.

"This is a great opportunity to bring several community members together to protect our kids,” said Tierney Cook, school district spokeswoman.

Nearly 4,000 swine flu, or H1N1, vaccinations were given at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department’s first clinic last week at Oklahoma City Community College, and about that many are expected this time, said H.R. Holman, health department spokesman.

Workers will have the vaccine in shot and mist form Saturday, Cook said, but the clinic will not have seasonal influenza vaccinations. More clinics will be scheduled across the school district based upon availability of the vaccine.

Parking and Spanish translators will be available at both locations. At the U.S. Grant location, people should enter through the west door, and vaccines will be given in the cafeteria.

Those at Southeast High School should enter through the south door, and the clinic will be in the cafeteria.
