Oklahoma City man fined in deaths of 187 birds
An Oklahoma City man was ordered today to pay a $6,500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service for destroying the nests of federally protected cliff swallows at Lake Hefner in June.
Gregory Owen apologized for his June 8 actions, which resulted in the deaths of 187 baby birds.
