LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska safety Matt O'Hanlon has been named the Big 12's defensive player of the week for his performance against Oklahoma.
O'Hanlon tied a school record with three interceptions, broke up a pass and made a team-high 12 tackles in the Cornhuskers' 10-3 win over the Sooners on Saturday.
The senior from Bellevue was the first Nebraska player since 1979 to pick off three passes in a game. All three of his interceptions were in the second half, with his last one sealing the game with 27 seconds left.
