Mustang superintendent rejects raise

MUSTANG — Mustang Schools Superintendent Bonnie Lightfoot said she wasn’t trying to send a message when she turned down a pay raise this week.

She said she was acting on principle.

The Mustang School Board on Monday offered to give Lightfoot a $20,000 annuity, payable at the end of her contract, but she declined. She also has declined an offer by the board to increase her pay.
