Muskogee pair charged after puppy slain, skinned

MUSKOGEE — A Muskogee woman told investigators she planned to make a belt out of the hide of a puppy she and a friend are charged with killing and skinning, officials said.

Krystal Lynn Lewis , 23, told authorities she decided to kill her Jack Russell terrier puppy, named Poplin, because she couldn’t afford to care for it, Muskogee County sheriff’s deputy George Roberson said.
