Little River Zoo ready to get junior zookeepers in the know
CampChildren can learn about animals, develop social skills

NORMANLittle River Zoo will host the first session of its Summer Junior Zookeeper Camp Monday through May 29. The camp will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The camp is open to children age 5 to 14. Participants will assist real zookeepers in a natural, hands-on environment, hike the trails of the zoo’s woodlands and discover facts about more than 400 animals residing at the zoo.

In addition to learning about the animals, children can develop social skills by learning to appreciate nature and fellow beings.

Campers will end the week with a family celebration of their accomplishments.

Little River Zoo is south of State Highway 9 on 120th Ave SE. The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
