Fetal and Infant
Mortality Review
program received a $3,750 grant from
the CJ Foundation for SIDS. The grant
will be used to partner with 75 physicians’ offices to promote education about safe sleep strategies.
HOLLAND TO SPEAK
LAWTON — Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland will speak at a business forum about health care reform at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cameron University. The presentation includes Jeff Raymond, executive director of OKWatchdog; Wayne Rohde, co-founder of Oklahomans for Health Care Reform; and Dr. Brent Smith, a physician in Lawton.
OMRF DOCTOR EARNS AWARD
Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation scientist Dr. Joan Merrill received the Out-
standing Achievement Award from the
Oklahoma chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America. In the eight years since Merrill
became the head of
the OMRF’s Clinical Pharmacology
Research Program, she has started a clinic that serves 420 patients.
