Hunger or poison blamed after owl dies

The eastern screech owl rescued by downtown workers has died.

The owl died Thursday of possible poisoning or starvation, WildCare Oklahoma director Rhondi Large said. She said the owl died before she got to an animal shelter to retrieve him Thursday night.
