I certainly hope ABC broadcasts the OU/UT game in high def. I don't know about you guys but every time OU has been on ABC in the regular season, the broadcast is just digital. ABC, do the right thing please. It's not the same watching a game of this magnitude in a regular signal (comcast). If anyone knows...holla!

Hello Sooners: UofA Wildcat here better late than never. Arizona trounced beat up Washington just like OU did, maybe worst. The outcome wouldn't have been any different if Locker played, but would've been different if UofA tight end Gronkowski was still out. Gronk, the best college tight end in the nation ran over and away from Washington's secondary for tds and Mike Stoops improving defense shut down the Huskies. I believe that with Bob Stoops having OU in first place in the Big 12 (South) and Mike Stoops having the UofA in first place in the Pac-10, may be a first for NCAA Division 1 football that brothers accomplished it. For the time being the Stoops rule the west!

Gameday goes where the biggest games are, ok? Before the season started OU-TX was about the 4th biggest game of the year behind USC-Ohio St, GA-FL, and GA-LSU. Now that GA, USC, and Ohio St have fallen, OU-TX is the biggest. IF (big if) TX beats OU (very unlikely), then expect Gameday to be in Austin for MO-TX. But most likely gameday will be in Norman for OU-Tech.

I agree about the whole SEC gameday thing. I was just stating that they do broadcast other games on Saturday night besides SEC games

Matt, I think it has more to do with CBS flexing their contractual muscle with ESPN regarding the SEC. So far this year, outside of USC/Ohio State, the game day crew has covered an SEC matchup every single weekend. I think it is about time the showed up to a different conference.

ESPN has to have some kind of deal with the Big 12. That's why Mizzou/Neb. was on ESPN and OSU/Mizzou is on ESPN2 this week. ESPN usually shows 5-10 Big12 match ups each season.

Hey Editor, I think the better history reference would have been that ESPN College GameDay has not been to the OU/TexASS game since 2002. This year, ESPN has really shown some SEC bias by going to SEC sites on 5 of their first 6 weeks. GameDay will be starting their broadcast at the same time the team busses come in. That is a tough choice! Yell at Corso or give the finger to Mack Brown?!?!

If I'm not mistaken the Big XII also signed a contract with ESPN as well...

I will be there Friday by noon! YaY! Go Sooners! I don't think it will be a complete blowout because like in past years it can be anybody's Saturday, but I think 3 touch downs in the first quarter will give OU the edge late. My pick is OU 31 - Texas 17.

Yeah it's like putting lipstick on a pig. I have two friends with relatives that play for Notre Dame and they ask me every week if I watched them play. I tried but cannot sit through more than 5 minutes of a Notre Dame game.

When does that NBC contract expire? Worst decision they ever made.

The SEC is highly rated because year after year for the last few years they have been a highly dominant conference, particularly on defense, which as a whole has been head and shoulders above other conferences. I am NOOOO SEC supremist, at all, but failure to recognize their achievement is blindness at best. Kind of like the polls, it's going to stay that way (the SEC being the 'best conference' until someone else comes along and knocks them off. Well, the Big 12 is knocking on the door. Personal and team records aside, we'll have to see how some bowl games go, HOPEFULLY, a national championship game. Personally, I'd LOOOOOVE for OU-UT-MU v LSU-Ala Orange Bowl

My bad on Chris Fowler. I thought he was an Alabama guy it must be another ESPN dark hairpiece I'm confusing him with. If ESPN, CBS and NBC are all contracted then these others need to get HD. Notre Dame games come on with this grand colorfuly intro in HD then you flip over to our game and your eyes have to adjust.

Another thing, the reason the SEC is so highly rated is from this ESPN push. Look at their non-conference schedule. OU has two wins that are better than any the SEC has won. They are rated so high because ESPN pushes it on us all. Break down the non-conference schedules and look at the bowl games. Every year there is a different conference that has the best record.

ESPN does not want to loose the contract with the SEC. I think it's up in 2009.

Ok folks. If you people don't know ESPN has a contract with the SEC. The SEC is thinking about doing their own channel, similar to the big 10. It seems blatantly obvious that anyone who watches ESPN will be subjected to their push to keep their contract with ESPN. Look at the first few weeks of college game day. 3 or 4 were at SEC venues. Vandy last week. We all know that's going to come to a screetching halt. I never said that the people on the show were biased, it's the programming that is biased towards the SEC.

It's good to have ESPN covering what looks to be one of the biggest matchups of the year. If you want to see the true colors of the media, however, look what they did to USC. One week they were calling USC the "Clear cut number 1", even though they had an unproven QB, and a significant number of casualties to the NFL. How quickly they forget. They are a little gun-shy about the Sooners because we always hype it up all the way to the last game then blow it. Hopefully we can win these tough games, and then finally dominate at the end again.

Chris Fowler is a pretty objective sportscaster and fair. I have no complaints about his analyses. I think for several seasons the SEC has been the media darling though, and stories 'standout' because of it. The Big 12 has closed the gap, if not completely, and the media has at least started to recognize that.

Let's all hope Lee Corso does not pick OU to win. Every time he picks OU to lose and that is about all the time the Sooners win and usually wins big. This game deserves a lot of hype as it will be the best game of the year. Texas is looking very very good and will give OU fits. However, OU looks very very good and will give it back to the Longhorns. It will be a great game. Although not as good as the one I saw in 1971 between OU and Nebraska, the game of the century.

Big 12 does not have a contract with ESPN like SEC does. The only reason you see ESPN during Big 12 games is that its ESPN College Football on ABC. I could be wrong but I believe that is pretty close to the deal. That and the SEC just signed a new contract with ESPN.

Chris Fowler is the SEC guy. The others are pretty objective. Wish they would pick up more OU games. Glad FSN and all the others do, but I miss the HD. Yeah, I'm spoiled.

Well, about time ESPN branches away from their beloved SEC conference. They're so biased it makes it tough to watch sometimes. They don't mix it up well enough most of the time.
