A winter storm predicted to pass through Oklahoma City has delayed the park’s opening.

Amusement park officials announced Thursday they will open for the season Sunday at noon, instead of Saturday, as originally planned.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of snow throughout the day Saturday and the predicted high temperature is 39 degrees.

Wind gusts up to 33 miles per hour are likely.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 64 degrees, better weather for parkgoers, officials said.

kudos to frontier city though for wising up...i was there one time in the cold and rain, and with the rides as weather prone as they are, opening day tomorrow would not be a great idea. not too sure that sunday would be any better though.

Its funny how they test the rides. They put sand bags in the Silver Bullet and strap them into a seat. If none fall out then its considered safe. If one breaks a safety belt and a bag falls out, then it needs more work.
