- Be aware of international fraud. Deal locally whenever possible.
- Watch for buyers who offer more than your asking price and who ask to have money wired or handed back to them. Fake cashier checks and money orders are common.
- Never give out personal financial information.
- Trust your instincts and be wary of someone using an escrow service or agent to pick up your merchandise.

MEEKS Leon L. Meeks slipped from this life into the arms of his Savior, with his beloved family by his side, on July 2, 2009. It is known by many that Jesus was the first to welcome him home, and He placed His arm around Leon and walked him into that beautiful garden, where there are no tears, nor sorrow. Leon is now with his precious Anna and the Heavenly Host, and we all give thanks for this assurance. Leon was born April 7, 1920 to Clarence Tracey Meeks and Lola Alta Meeks near Springer, OK. He was the eldest of three brothers, Emett O. Meeks and Calvin T. Meeks. All three of the Meeks brothers served proudly in World War II, and you knew when you were in Leon's presence that he was, indeed, a part of the "Greatest Generation." He served his country in the South Pacific while in the Navy. On December 31, 1945, Leon and Anna were married. He always said she was the prettiest girl in the world, and their marriage lasted 61 years before Anna passed away on December 9, 2007. Leon and Anna's love was based on true Christian values, which was evident in their everyday lives. They resided in Oklahoma City and were longtime members of Walker Ave. Baptist Church before moving to Mustang in 1976. They then joined First Baptist Church of Mustang, and he was always one of the first ones to arrive on Sunday morning to make sure the coffee was ready for all. Leon was President of JW Skaggs Construction Co. from 1965 until his retirement in 1986 and could build anything or take it apart. You had to do it his way, or you knew it was wrong. Until his accident you could usually find him on his tractor mowing, baling hay or at the coffee shop with his friends. He was a tough and rugged but gentle man, instilled in him by growing up on sharecropper farms from Ardmore to Binger. His word was his bond, and all who knew him respected and loved him. His favorite things to do were taking care of his cattle, farming, and watching his grandchildren play ball. He loved hearing stories about their adventures. Leon was the patriarch of many lives and a mentor to each one. He was greatly respected and loved by not only his immediate family, but by his adopted family of in-laws and church members and the Mustang Munchies Coffee Shop Gang. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and his beloved Anna. He is survived by his children, Robert and Jacqueline Meeks, Kathy Williams, and James and Julie Meeks. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Holly and Danny Lawson, Kristen Davis, Colin and Fawn Meeks, Amy and Terry Massey, James and Kristin Williams, Ashley and Clint Martin, Hailey Meeks and Blake Meeks; also 13 great-grandchildren: Ivey, Addy and Kinsey Lawson, Jackson and Daniel Davis, Houston and Ellie Anna Meeks, Kaleb, Jacob, Colby, and Abby Massey, Haley Williams, and Madeline Meeks. Words do not do justice to Leon Meeks. All of our lives will be dimmer because he is gone from our sight. But we do know that we will all be together again, and we give God thanks for allowing Leon to be with us all. We are truly blessed to have had him in our lives. Services will be held at 10am Monday, July 6, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Mustang, with interment following at Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, OK under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.mcneilsmustangfs.com

STRIBLING D'Elliott (Dee) Stribling was born Oct. 22, 1930 to Dee Mercer and Esther Mae Elliott Stribling in a house in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He left this realm on June 26, 2009 due to complications from ALS. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret who ''stole my heart'' 32 years ago, he wrote. He is also survived by his children Julie Butler and Anna MackeyTouchstone (Hendersonville, Tennessee); step-daughters Shannon Taylor (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and Kristy Kennah (Centennial, Colorado); six grandchildren Jacob Lair, Hunter Kennah, Sullivan Kennah, Arden Butler, Devon Butler and Seth Taylor; and sons-in-law Josh Butler, Shawn Taylor and Greg Kennah. Dee and Margaret founded ''In His Name Ministries'' in 1983 and guided it together for twenty-six years. Margaret will continue the work under the guidance of the Board of Directors. Dee graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City and from Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma, with a B.S. in New Testament studies. He also attended The University of Oklahoma and was an avid OU football fan. He served in the Army and had 14 months of active duty in Korea at I-Corps Hq. He worked with two Tulsa churches as youth pastor; was active in Tulsa Metropolitan Ministries as Chairman of Youth Ministries; served as Regional Director, International Christian Youth Exchange; worked as Admissions Counselor at Phillips University; and was Regional Sales Manager, Continental Research. Dee was a great communicator. He loved forming connections with people and letting them know he was interested in their lives. He could charm anyone and convince you that he had the best grip on things. Even if you believed different you found yourself wanting to agree with him whether you did or not. Dee was a remarkable man who understood the real meaning of being a Christian. He realized that Christianity had everything to do with truly loving your neighbor as Christ so loves us. It was not uncommon for Dee to go up to a stranger, strike up a conversation and participate in a ''God Connection.'' Even in death he was generous. Dee made the decision to donate his body to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Memorial contributions may be sent to: In His Name Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 1208, Bethany, OK 73008-1208 (Web: inhisname.org). The family had a private celebration of Dee's graduation to heaven. If you would like to celebrate his life please think of him the next time you are at a restaurant; in Dee's memory, bless your wait person with a BIG tip. Dee would also urge you to pray for the people who serve you; from the people who pick up your garbage, to the doctors and nurses who attend you as you leave this realm and All those in between.

WALLER Vivian Garnette (Wilcoxson) Waller was born in Stratford, Indian Territory, on March 2, 1906 and died in Lawton on June 27, 2009. At a time when it was very unusual for girls, she was an outstanding athlete. With her partner, Dorothy Blanchard, she won the 1923 Oklahoma High School Girls Doubles Tennis Championship for Purcell High School. In order to defeat the Tulsa runner-up team, they played the longest match in Oklahoma State Tournament history until that time. As a student at Oklahoma Baptist University, she played first violin in the orchestra, played piano, sang, debated and judged high school contests. She was voted OBU "Best All Around Girl" in 1925 and "Harvest Queen" of 1926. As a junior she was coach of the OBU women's basketball team and as a senior was coordinator of women's sports. She supported athletics generally and women's athletics specifically all of her life. Upon being graduated in 1927, Vivian taught high school English, Spanish and speech in her home town of Purcell until 1935, when she married Ernest Waller and moved to Lawton. It was a time when school boards were reluctant to hire married teachers; however, because of her specific skill, she was sought out to teach at Emerson Grade School and start a physical education program there. For ten years, from 1945 until 1955, she focused her efforts on volunteer work, both in Lawton and statewide. She was president of the Lawton PTA council and initiated the campaign for a new high school, which became reality in 1954. From 1955 until her retirement in 1971, she taught eighth grade English. She was elected Lawton Teacher of the Year in 1965. After being retired from classroom teaching, she taught GED preparation for an additional eighteen years. She used summer vacations to travel the world and eventually visited all of the inhabited continents. She was an exceptionally active member of the First Baptist Church and remained involved there, even after becoming house-bound. She had been a member of Domestic Science and Spanish clubs. She was a member of Book and Play Club, Southwest Oklahoma Opera Guild, and Friends of the Library. She was an active member of PEO and Shakespeare Club. "I've served my time and now I can coast" was not her style of organization membership. As long as she was a member, she was active - specializing in telephone committees in more recent times. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; her parents, Rev. William A. Wilcoxson and Pearl (Hyden) Wilcoxson; two brothers, Ray and Samuel (Bud); and half-sister, Martha Jane. She is survived by a son, John and his wife Lou of Norman; a granddaughter, Jennifer Waller of Seattle, Washington; a grandson, Dr. David Waller of Oxford, Ohio; six surviving nieces and a nephew; and many grand and great-grandnieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 7, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Willoughby, Associate Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Baptist University, Women's Athletics, 500 W. University, Shawnee, OK 74804; the Lawton Shakespeare Club, c/o Catherine Donahue, 2010 NE 31st St., Lawton, OK 73507; or First Baptist Church, 501 SW B Ave., Lawton, OK 73501.
