The Oklahoma City School District wants to relocate its offices to the Journal Record Building, which was damaged in the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

The city council on Tuesday voted to delay a vote on the proposal until next week.

The district wants to use the building at 621 N Robinson for administrative offices. A city trust bought the building in 1997 and renovated it after it was damaged in the bombing.

The deal would let the school district buy 70,000 square feet of the 110,000 square-foot building at a cost of $8.5 million. The Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum is in the west end of the building. The district would move into the east side.
