Cheers & Jeers: Scheduling Georgia; Vertigo at Gallagher-Iba

Published: November 16, 2006

Cheers
• To Oklahoma State's home-and-home series with Georgia. Good for the Cowboys to accept the challenge next September of playing between the hedges in Athens, and it will pay off in 2009, when Georgia plays at Stillwater.

• To Sean Sutton's recruiting. I don't know if these new signees can play, but they are highly-ranked and certainly pass the sound test.

Jeers
• To the television view at Gallagher-Iba Arena. OSU set up a new camera deck, but in the season opener, the old bird's-eye overhang was used, and it again gave viewers vertigo.

• To the Big 12's contracts with the Texas Bowl and the Insight Bowl, games which have a television contract with the NFL Network. OSU could be in line for either bowl. Great. The Cowboys already have been on two cable networks most viewers don't get. Might as well make it a trifecta.
