Cheers and Jeers: Sudden Sam's endorsement
Published: December 4, 2008
CHEERS
→To the Big 12 coaches’ Heisman endorsement of Sam Bradford. What else can be construed from the vote that made Sudden Sam first-team all-conference and the Big 12 offensive player of the year?
→To Bob Stoops’ preference to anchor the Big 12 title game in one locale, apparently in Texas. Such a move would anchor the Big 12 basketball tournament to Kansas City, leaving OKC out of the rotation. →To the annual raiding of coaching staffs before their seasons are over. Missouri is losing offensive coordinator Dave Christensen to Wyoming, though he says he will stay on at MU through the bowl game. OU knows that feeling. No coach can serve two masters.

The term "Sooner Nation" was also used in the 1971 or 1972 reworking of the song Woody and Jack Guthrie composed, "Oklahoma Hills." I was a child, but I believe one verse went, "Way down yonder in the Sooner Nation, football is our preoccupation, Oklahoma Sooners number one." The original version contained a line "Way down yonder in the Indian nation."

1) Stoops doesn't want his players / fans out in the 15-degree weather for 3 hours...that's a *good* thing.
2) No coach can serve two masters? We know that feeling? I don't recall Mike Stoops being on the sidelines when he left, and frankly, Bo Pelini did it quite well with Nebraska and LSU.
If true I hope he uses the next two games to make his case.

Boomer Sooner!!!
Uh huh.
No, Michael. You aren't biased at all.
Not because he's afraid of the dark, but because the dark is afraid of Sam Bradford.
Really though, there is a much better quarterback in Stillwater. More agile, stronger arm.... he just doesn't get any press coverage because this entire state is full of biased news reporters like Ol' Berry here.
Sure would be nice to see a news station or this communist newspaper hire some people that supported all the college teams and players and didn't abuse their power.
