The rivalry rides again!

John Rohde: Cotton Bowl vs. LSU

Despite losing to Texas, look for OU to still make a return trip to Jerry World this season. Alas, it will be for an appearance in the Cotton Bowl, which has a new home. Just for giggles, let’s have the Sooners facing LSU and coach Les Miles. Anyone sick of "Tiger Bait" yet?

Jenni Carlson: Alamo Bowl vs. Iowa

It might be hard to get the Sooner Nation fired up about a non-BCS bowl, but at least there would be some fun storylines with Bob Stoops facing his alma mater.

John Helsley: Alamo Bowl vs. Michigan State

The Sooners haven’t been bowling in San Antonio, yet, and they’d be No. 1 on the watch list. Landry Jones vs. Keith Nichol in a battle of former OU backups.

David Ubben: Cotton Bowl vs. LSU

The Cotton Bowl knows OU fans will travel. With the way the North is shaping up, it looks like all OU will have to compete with is OSU.

John, you're an idiot. I see heart and fight, I just dont see a ton of skill/experience. Big difference. They lost to three ranked teams by a total of 5. Its not like they quit and got blown out like the Tennessee Titans.

Ken, those are all losable, but that doesnt mean they will all be lost. I think we all agree they will lose at least one more. Two is probably about right, but they will come out with a win in some of those.

Why do you negative Nancy's ignore the fact that these teams we will play arent great either? Nebraska has no offense, that game could end 10-7. Kansas has no defense. Tech looks pretty good so we will see. OSU is good but has problems in Norman.

The sky is not falling.

I'll be surprised if this team even qualifies for a bowl game and if they do it will not be anything but an early Dec. bowl game. This group of players lacks heart and fight.

Lets get six wins and then talk bowl predictions. Nebraska, Tech, Kansas and OSU are all possible losses for the Sooners this year. I hope not, but I think I'm being realistic.

Volk, did they switch November 14th to a bye week for Iowa? My schedule says that they have Ohio St that week.

Realistically, the game at Tech will be tough, Sam or no Sam. Playing at Nebraska won't be a cakewalk, and neither will KU. OSU will come ready to play but have struggled in Norman in recent years. OU should win the rest hands down with that defense.

Don't make me laugh at you guys!! A bowl game? For this team??
Give me a break!!
They won't play even football.
It would just be another loss anyway.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which would the Sooner nation be more fired up to do. Go to another BCS Bowl and watch
Stoop's embarrass us, or go to a minor bowl with a chance to win. The only people not
fired up for a minor bowl is the press. They go to the Bowls all expense's paid, they really
don't care one way or the other if OU wins or loss's, they got a free trip. They need to be
matched with the fourth or fifth place team in the SEC, Pac-10, Big-10, ACC. Any
team above 4th in those conference's will be a loss for the Sooner's. Right now Bowl games
are only a pipe-dream for Stoop's and they'll be lucky to finish in the top-20. Remember
that is an extremely poorly coached team and anything can happen for the worse.

Todd: As an OSU fan, I'd like to think you are right, but no way in hell will OU lose all those games to KSU, aTm, etc. Maybe they will lose to TTU or OSU, but they will probably end up 8-4 at worst. From this point in the season, I can easily see them running the table to end up 9-3. Beating them at Norman will be really tough. They are a wounded animal right now, and anxious for redemption.

jo, still a douche.
devron, BEND - Oct 21, 2009 at 3:05 pm
They don't want Oregon or LSU, they are over-matched against them. Stoops can't play
with SEC teams, and only has a less than stellar performance against the PAC-10 top 3. OU needs to draw a Big-10 team. The Diamond-Emerald Walnut Bowl or the Mienke Car Care
Bowl would probably be more fitting.

OU won't make a bowl game this year. There will only be one game that they will win and that is against KSU. Losses at NU, TT, and KU. A&M will come in prepare to win and pull off the upset. OU will be so beaten down by losing 7 games by 3 points or less that OSU will put a pounding on the defense and score 70 points. How much do the coaches make to be less than average.

Who said they are going to a bowl? They still have to win at least 3, prolly 4, more games because I don't think Idaho St. counts as a D-1 opponent. They may not be bowl elgible when it's all said and done.

Patrick, I agree. Iowa may lose to Ohio St, but they will still get a better bowl than that unless they really tank.

At this point I just hope this OU team improves through the rest of the season, especially on the line and at receiver. Then maybe get a nice winable bowl game.

Anywhere but Shreveport! I actually wouldnt mind the Alamo Bowl. New scenery, San Antonio is a fun town, and I dont think a lot of the Big 10 in general. Not that the Big 12 is much to talk about either.

Uh John, Keith Nichol doesn't even start for Michigan State. Not much of a battle there.

OK, Jenni, something's wrong with your pick. While it may hold sentimental value for some, there's no chance it happens. Iowa is currently undefeated, and plays in a pathetic conference. They won't be playing in the Alamo Bowl. I also hope we don't have to go and play another game in that dump!
