→”My sophomore year we won, and getting that gold hat is a great feeling. It feels like a national championship. I want to get that feeling back.”

— Senior offensive tackle Trent Williams

→"I’m sure they’re a little bit bitter about beating us last year and us going off to play in the Big 12 Championship, but at the same time, we’re a little bit bitter that they beat us last year.”

— Junior quarterback Sam Bradford

→"Chills run through everybody with this game because it’s rivalry. And who doesn’t love rivalry? You want to be able to say our school is better than yours. When you’re in the locker room, you think about all the past great games and all the things that have happened, and you just want to be known that when our team came through this year, we came out on top.”

— Junior defensive tackle Gerald McCoy

→"We don’t get into revenge stuff, I don’t think that’s ever a good motivator. Whenever someone’s doing that, that’s sort of disrespecting the other team. ‘Oh, so they had no business beating you, right?’ So, I’m not buying any of that.”

— OU coach Bob Stoops

Please STOP calling it the Red River "Rivalry", it's the RR SHOOTOUT, for God's sake!!

Should Bob take lessons from Lane Kiffen?

Would you rather him act like a drag queen on uppers?

You know, that's my main beef with Stoops as well, No emotion except when he is being questioned lamely by the media. even then it is a snarl. Come on Bob, man up and get some excitement. Put some excitement into the coaching staff and that will surely rub off on the players.

You know, I want to hedge my bets, I love Coach Stoops and his staff and I'm not advocating a change, but come on, lets have some emotion. I want to see a desire to win. Maybe that's communicated behind closed doors, but watching the press conferences, Coach Stoops seems so sterile. As a fan, I want to see him want to win this game, not just the goals of the season, I want a fierce desire to beat Texas, not to talk about the big 12 championship. It just seems to me that the Sooners play the big games reserved. I'm a fan not a coach, I played football for the last time in 9th grade. But, I think the kids need to be let loose and play, let the players speak out and try and back it up. Turn them loose and play with emotion, at least then it would be left on the field. Just my opinion, doesn't count for much....
