But watching them interact, you’d think they were lifelong friends.

"It’s been fun getting to know Colt and Tim,” Bradford said. "They’re great guys.

"It has added that much more to the experience.”

Tonight, only one of the three quarterbacks will leave with the 74th Heisman Trophy. But all three say they’ll return home with lasting friendships.

"We have a great relationship with each other,” McCoy said. "It’s been fun.”

Beyond competing for the Heisman, the three have plenty of reasons not to like each other.

Bradford and Tebow will face off Jan. 8 in the BCS National Championship.

"I think we’re both looking forward to that game,” Bradford said.

"But right now, there’s no conversation about that game. We’re just trying to have fun.”

McCoy, who led the Longhorns to an 11-1 season, defeated Bradford’s Sooners, but could only watch as Oklahoma advanced to title games.

"That really hasn’t surfaced at all,” McCoy said.

"We’ve talked about a lot of things other than football. We’re enjoying each other,” he said.

"I think that’s what this weekend is all about.”

While having lunch Friday in Manhattan, THEY even found a common interest other than football.

"We agreed we were all country music fans,” Tebow said.

Three great young men that lead their teams to outstanding seasons. Any one of them could have won or all three tied for the trophy. But, only one can take it each year. Number 5 for Big Red! Boomer! Sooners! We are proud of Bradford, what an outstanding young man!

James in Gallup. What did I write on my post below the story about Bradford and his parents that came out on Friday that made you lump me in with cooter and Joe from Austin? Dude did you even read what I wrote?

Let's all hope that McCoy and Tebow were able to use their own reasons for staying next year to help sway Bradford that way. It is refreshing to hear some very positive news about young athletes. Seems like the "bad apples" get way too much of the atttention. All three appear to be good examples of class and respectability.

I agree, T. That's a great story. It reminds us all keep things in perspective. I'm die-hard OU, but I have respect for Tebow and McCoy. These guys are just enjoying Manhattan. The exciting thing about tonight will be the look on the victor's face. For the first time in a while there is no certain projected winner. McCoy handled the questions asked of him on Thursday night with class. They're all three professionals. If they all stay in NCAA football, there should be some interesting story lines next year. I think gaining a mutual respect for one another will soften the blow for the two who don't win tonight.

Neat story. It seems that these players are much bigger men than many of their fans. Could we find a finer trio of role-models for the young athletes who are hoping to follow in their footsteps?
