Despite playing in an arena located 90 miles northeast of the Ford Center — and at the home of the Thunder's NBA Developmental team — the Houston Rockets officially are the home team.
"At the end of the day the jersey color doesn't really matter," said Thunder forward Desmond Mason. "We know we're at home and the fans are going to be rooting for us. That's the most important thing."
The Rockets originally were scheduled to play Orlando in Tulsa tonight. After the Sonics relocated from Seattle to Oklahoma City in July, Thunder officials made a deal with the Magic so the new Oklahoma City franchise could play a preseason game in Tulsa.
