Soon, troops serving overseas will get a special care package from Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma and Blue Star Moms. This year, the two organizations joined forces to send thousands of Girl Scout cookies to Americans serving in the armed forces.

Through Blue Star Moms, Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma was able to send 8,258 boxes of Thin Mints, Samoas and Do-Si-Does overseas.

The Blue Star Moms members gathered Girl Scout cookies from all over the state.
"We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to work with the Blue Star Moms on this project,” said Cathy Stackpole, CEO for Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma. "It is through combined efforts and support from the community that we are able to provide the troops with cookies. We often hear from soldiers how much it means to them to get Girl Scout cookies when they are so far from home, so we are very excited that we were able to do it again this year.”
