The Atlanta Falcons selected former Sooner linebacker Curtis Lofton with the 37th overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Lofton was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year last season, prompting him to skip his senior season and declare for the draft.
Even though former OU wide receiver Malcolm Kelly and defensive back Reggie Smith were considered by many analysts as better pro prospects, Lofton is the first Sooner to be taken in the draft.
