Buyers seek economy with higher gas prices

With gasoline prices above $3 a gallon, one would expect the last thing consumers want to do is car shop. But that's exactly what they are doing — and they're not looking for just any car.

Hybrids are the No. 1 item on many consumers' list as fluctuating gas prices drive them in search of a more fuel-efficient solution.
