Oklahoma's spring practices seem to start earlier every year. The past two seasons, television played a factor, with ESPN signing on to air the spring game.

Sooners coach Bob Stoops said he likes the early start for another reason: extra time to rehabilitate any injuries that occur.
"I'd like to have this start this time on a regular basis,” Stoops said. "I want to finish spring and the spring game earlier, in case you get any kind of major injury, you have a chance to recover and be fully recovered and have time in the summer to rehabilitate and regain the strength you need to be ready to go in the fall.”
•Injury update: Along with wide receiver Malcolm Kelly and Darien Williams, offensive lineman Brandon Walker won't practice this spring. All had minor knee surgeries after last season.
Tight end Jermaine Greshamand defensive end Alonzo Dotson will be limited early, before joining full workouts after spring break.
Offensive lineman Branndon Braxton, who suffered a broken leg in the Colorado game, was cleared for full activity and is practicing.
•Scrimmage set: OU's first spring scrimmage, which is one of the few workouts open to the public, is set for Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
The Sooners will work through a few drills before beginning the scrimmage on Owen Field.
OU's March 31 scrimmage will also be open, although a time has not yet been set.
