Baltimore kept pace with San Diego in the race for home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs with a 20-10 win on Sunday at Kansas City.

Baltimore is 10-3 and one of the hottest teams in the AFC. Contributing to Baltimore’s success this season are former Oklahoma standouts Mark Clayton and Kelly Gregg.

Clayton, a second-year pro, caught five passes for 112 yards.

He caught a 87-yard touchdown pass from Steve McNair, the longest offensive play for Baltimore this season. Meanwhile, Gregg helped in a defensive effort that limited the Chiefs to 10 points on their home field. The former Edmond North lineman had four tackles as the Ravens controlled Chiefs running back Larry Johnson for most of the game.

There’s an emerging pipeline between Norman and Baltimore. Besides Gregg and Clayton, former Sooner defensive back Corey Ivy is a key contributor on special teams and defense. The Ravens selected former OU defensive end Dan Cody in the second round of the 2005 draft and former OU offensive lineman Chris Chester in the second round of the 2006 draft.

Clayton has made the biggest splash with 57 catches for 773 yards and four touchdowns in what is proving to be his breakthrough NFL season.
