Sooners convert on third down at the 1-yard line
The close attention that Nebraska paid to Oklahoma's running game led to the game's most important pass play.

Facing a third-and-10 pinned on their own 1-yard line, the Sooners sent a package stuffed with fullbacks and tight ends onto the field. They hoped it would convince the Cornhuskers that they were going to run.

"We thought they would sell out for the run," OU offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said. "And I think they just thought we were going to try to get a yard or 2 for the punt."

Instead, Paul Thompson hit Jermaine Gresham in the flat for 35 yards.

"He made a great play," Wilson said. "That flipped field position."

It also was the catalyst for a 99-yard drive that gave the Sooners a two-touchdown cushion.
