After missing the previous two games with a sprained ankle, Patrick returned in form against the Cowboys. He ran 23 times for 163 yards, with his 65-yard touchdown run to open the second half providing the Sooners with a two-touchdown cushion that proved hard to overcome.
OU's third linebacker is used situationally, rarely seeing the field in some games. His impact was critical Saturday, when he contributed four tackles — two for losses — in helping contain the Cowboys running game.
Patrick's touchdown bolt came with Cooper sealing a crease from his center spot and tight end/fullback Eldridge leading the way through the hole to blow open a gaping seam.
