Making the call on the hot topics

In sports, as in life, difficult decisions must be made every day. Should a person resign or be fired? Is it time to stay or go? Is punishment due, and if so, how severe? Is someone an asset or a cancer? What’s best personally and what’s best for business? Below are some hot topics and the appropriate decision for each:

College football playoff: Use it.

NCAA basketball tournament: Leave it alone.

College World Series: Never move it.

Olympic Games: Less commercialism, more amateurism.

Touchdown celebrations: Less posing.

Championship celebrations: Less violence.

Drew Bledsoe: Bench him.

Tony Romo: Bench him.

Troy Aikman: Start him.

Floyd Landis: Test him.

Ben Roethlisberger: Rest him.

Buck O’Neil: Induct him.

MLB: More drug testing.

PGA Tour: Fewer tournaments.

European Ryder Cup team: Less success.

American Ryder Cup team: More competitiveness.

Seattle SuperSonics: Let them go.

Hornets: Let them stay.
