Best player: Sophomore quarterback Chase Daniel is already on his way to several school passing records in just his first season as a starter. He already holds records for touchdown passes in a game (5) and a season (19). He's only 460 yards behind Jeff Handy's single-season school record of 2,463 passing yards and Daniel's 66.8 completion percentage is ahead of the school record of 65.1, held by Phil Johnson.
Why they could win: Daniel and the Tigers' wide-open passing attack will be the first real test the Sooner secondary has faced since Texas. The Tigers often use two tight ends, which can create matchup problems for defensive backs
Why they could lose: The Mizzou defense is good, but not great. And it lost one of its best players in defensive end Brian Smith, who broke his hip last week. The Tigers defense allowed 5.6 yards per carry to Kansas State, which was without its best running back.
Little known fact: In 1960, Missouri went 11-0 and won the Big Eight Conference. That was the only season in the program's history when it won more than nine games. It was Dan Devine's third season as head coach, after he replaced Frank Broyles. Broyles coached Missouri to a 5-4-1 record in 1957, his only season.
