Prentice Gautt always wanted to be a Sooner.

During the summers, he and his buddies would take the bus from Oklahoma City to Norman from time to time. They’d walk to the football stadium, hop the fence and run up and down the Owen Field turf.

“The only thing I knew was that I wanted to play football for Oklahoma and for Bud Wilkinson ,” Gautt wrote in the book “What It Means to Be a Sooner....
