Big win
Colorado finally got in the win column Saturday with a 30-6 win over Texas Tech in Boulder.

The Buffs started the season 0-6, their worst start since going 0-7 to begin the 1980 season.

Colorado safety Ryan Walters had the first two interceptions of his career, and the Buffs took advantage of four Tech turnovers in all.

"We finally got it down," linebacker Jordon Dizon said. "It's our day in the sun."

Big ‘D'
The Buffaloes have allowed more than 21 points only twice this season, and one of those was a three-overtime loss to Baylor in which the Bears scored 17 of their 34 points in regulation.

Colorado held then-No. 9 Georgia scoreless through three quarters before falling 14-13 on Sept. 23. And Texas Tech's offense isn't as powerful as it has been under Mike Leach, but holding the Red Raiders to six points is still a strong performance.

Saturday was the first time Texas Tech had been held scoreless through the first three quarters of a game under Leach.

Action Jackson
Quarterback Bernard Jackson became the starter in the second game of the season, replacing James Cox, who started the season-opening 19-10 loss to NCAA Division I-AA Montana State.

Jackson is another dual-threat QB, averaging more than 15 carries and 52 yards per game since becoming the starter.

He's 63-of-125 passing for 712 yards with six interceptions and three TDs for the season.

The Crosby Show
Colorado's Mason Crosby is regarded as one of the best college kickers in the country, and he continues to prove himself worthy of such accolades.

Crosby made kicks of 53 and 56 yards in Saturday's win, giving him 12 field goals of 50-plus yards for his career.

The Georgetown, Texas, native is 12-of-20 for his career beyond 50 yards, including a 1-of-3 mark beyond 60 yards.

He is 57-of-75 overall for his career.
