A veteran and powerful defensive front posed a stiff test and deserves credit for helping hold down Adrian Peterson in the second half. They enjoyed it, too: "After halftime, we just went out there and showed them we were more physical." But five false-start penalties — inexcusable.
This game was Heisman hurtful. It was another 100-yard performance for Peterson, topping out at 109, but only 38 came after intermission. And he lost a first-half fumble and didn't even give chase to a swing pass that was ruled a lateral in the fourth quarter, resulting in the Longhorns' final TD.
The sophomore wide receiver led the Sooners with five receptions for 69 yards, but his fourth-quarter was a crippler. Down 21-10, with his team driving, Iglesias caught what could have been a critical first-down pass to the Texas 15, but he coughed it up, ending the threat, and virtually all comeback hopes.
With the Sooners searching for playmakers, the true freshman provided OU's biggest gain, romping 41 yards with a reception to set up the Sooners' only touchdown.
