Surrendering end zone key to Red River agreement
DALLAS — Significant concession? Or successful negotiating ploy?

How about both?

Oklahoma's decision to give up the south end zone seats at the Cotton Bowl every other year was key in the recent agreement to keep the Red River rivalry in Dallas through 2010.

For decades, OU fans occupied the south end — which includes the tunnel from which both teams enter and leave the field.
