The Oklahoman
Where: Austin, Texas

Mascot: Longhorns

Conference: Big 12 South

Last year’s record: 13-0

Best player: Hard to pick just one, but 6-foot-5 receiver Limas Sweed could present problems for the OU secondary, which has been suspect at times this season.

Why they could win: Linemen, offensive and defensive. The Sooners are young on both, while Texas is big, fast and strong.

Why they could lose: Texas quarterback Colt McCoy has been consistent so far this season. But freshman quarterbacks — Rhett Bomar in 2005, Vince Young in 2003 — haven’t had success in this series recently.

Noteworthy: Despite a 1-5 record against OU the last six years, Texas is the most successful college football program during that span (60-9). Oklahoma is fourth at 58-12.
