EUGENE, Ore. — Dexter Manley II might have considered playing at his father's alma mater, Oklahoma State , when he came out of high school three years ago.

But only if Eddie Sutton had offered him a basketball scholarship.

"I was always a hooper. That was my first sport," said Manley II, Oregon 's 6-foot-2, 266-pound junior defensive end.
