Fullback Matt Clapp did not play Saturday, still feeling the effects of the sprained ankle he suffered last week.
Tight end Brody Eldridge, touted by coaches for his blocking ability, subbed in at fullback when the Sooners went to the I-formation.
“He’s that kind of athlete,” OU coach Bob Stoops said. “He can catch, he can run, he’s physical. He’s really a versatile guy.”
Sophomore offensive guard Brandon Walker left the game with an apparent leg injury in the third quarter, but returned to the game.
Receiver Juaquin Iglesias and kicker Garrett Hartley each limped off the field at different times, but neither sustained an injury and both continued to play.
The Sooners expect to have backup offensive lineman Brian Simmons back for next Saturday’s game at Oregon.
