Who’s OU’s biggest hitter?
Rufus Alexander. Yes sir. He’s out there hard working, nasty, ready to go, pumped up, guns ready.
At one point in the preseason do you get truly excited about the season?
When you start two-a-days really. That’s when you get tingly. You’ve got to get focused and roll it out through the season.
How does that change game week?
It’ll ramp up a whole lot more. Talk is about the
Sooners. Everyone wants to see what we’ve got.
What’s the most disgusting thing you’ve seen in locker room?
I’ll say big Duke (
George Robinson) going to the shower.
What is your hidden talent?
I can cook. My mom taught me a lot of things about cooking, so I can cook. My specialty is probably fried chicken and catfish.
Who’s your most wired teammate?
I’d have to say Rufus. Just like I said, he’s got that nasty attitude. Off the field, he’s not like that. But when he gets out there, his whole attitude just changes. He turns into this nasty dude who’s ready to hit a running back and put him out of the game.
I bet you didn’t know this about Bob Stoops...When he gets mad, he can be the nastiest coach you’ve ever seen. When he gets mad, he’s mad. And when he’s mad at you, you feel like you’re the worst player on the team. When he yells at you, you feel like the lowest member of the team.
I guess you don’t want to upset Coach Stoops then?
You don’t want him mad at you at all. He’ll get after you.
