Members unanimously supported $8 million for projects across the state and another $8 million in projects for Oklahoma City and Tulsa, said Blake Wade, the commission's executive director.

Some of the biggest projects across the state include $150,000 for an amphitheater restoration in Ada, $320,000 for the Chisolm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan and $400,000 for the Waynoka Transportation Museum and Regional Interpretive Center.

Major projects in Tulsa include $1.2 million for the Centennial Botanical Garden, pending passage of a local bond issue and $800,000 for Centennial Park. Oklahoma City projects include $1 million for the Oklahoma Land Run Monument and $450,000 for an Oklahoma Centennial Exposition at State Fair Park.

Work should start on the projects this year, he said, and most should be completed by the centennial, Nov. 16, 2007.

Commission members originally asked for $35 million to $38 million to finance 300 projects across the state.
