International Congress for Victims of Terrorism Began in Madrid in 2004, alternating between Colombia and Spain.
To be held Feb. 20-27, 2007, in Oklahoma City, hosted by the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism and the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
Will endorse the position of the U.S. government and the European community with regard to the terrorism convention currently before the United Nations.
Will help victims help themselves by sharing lessons learned.
Will remind the world that victims are more resilient and more determined than the terrorists.
National Memorial Institute
for the Prevention of Terrorism Located in Oklahoma City.
Dedicated to expanding and sharing knowledge to help prevent terrorism and mitigate its effects.
Originally incorporated, on Sept. 23, 1999, as a nonprofit corporation in Oklahoma and recognized as such by the Internal Revenue Service.
Grew out of the desire of the survivors and families of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing of April 19, 1995, to have a living memorial.
Intends to honor that desire by doing what it can to try to prevent other cities from living through what Oklahoma City had to live through.
Held its first major conference on terrorism on April 19, 2000.
