TULSA -- Tulsa County sheriff's deputies and detention officers will wear centennial badges beginning Jan. 1, Sheriff Stanley Glanz said Wednesday.

The new badge will be a six-pointed star with the state seal in the center, all within a circle. It will bear the dates 1907 and 2007.

Glanz said the badge is similar to those worn by territorial marshals before Oklahoma was a state. No public money will be used for the badges. Deputies will pay $81.38 for them.
