Grappling for charity

The Mid South Wrestling Alliance plans a benefit meet at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 19 in City Nights Event Center, 5810 S Western.

The match will honor six children who survived the Oklahoma City bombing and will also honor Jannie Coverdale, who lost two grandchildren.

Rebecca Denny, Brandon Denny, P.J. Allen, Nekia McCloud, Christopher Nguyen and Joseph Webber are the bombing survivors. Coverdale lost grandsons Aaron and Elijah Coverdale.

Wrestlers include World Wrestling Entertainment's Big Van Vader plus Mr. Wrestling 3, Olympic wrestling champion and state Boxing Commissioner Danny Hodge, Mr. Ebony and Tom Jones.

Christian rappers Young Dami and Demand will perform.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 3-12. Children younger than 3 will be admitted free.

Mid South Wrestling Alliance will donate 10 percent of ticket sales to be split among the survivors.
