Frank Keating, governor when the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building was bombed 10 years ago today, said Monday the progress made the past decade in the city proves good can come out of an evil act.

"Oklahoma is in a Renaissance mode," he said.

"I wish, we all wish, that that tragedy had never occurred. All of us would have been better off without it. But it occurred, and the issue is how we responded to it. And all you have to do is just look and listen and see, and there's no question that we responded very well."

Keating made the comments before speaking to the House Republican caucus at the state Capitol.
